Fried Batter Squid |
We went out to dine at Zhou's Chinese Restaurant on Como Lake in Coquitlum last night. We were working from home and by the time be noticed that it was time to cook dinner, was already late in the evening. So, we decided to just go out to a restaurant nearby to dine. And it would be good to try out something new, like a place we have not been to before. I remember a neighbour telling us about a Chinese restaurant that does a lot of takeouts serving Cantonese style cuisines.

Stir Fried Shrimps Cashew Nuts |
That was why we headed for that restaurant. The restaurant is located on a strip mall within the vicinity of the No Frills Supermarket on Como Lake. It was not difficult to find and when we got there, there were lots of parking space. The first thing we saw from the outside was the restaurant's advertisement for takeouts. I supposed this is how they were recognized or spotted from afar. The restaurant was quite a distance from the main road. The signs has to be big enough to see from the road.

Fried Tofus in Claypot |
We went inside and the diner was presentable. There were about fifteen large to small tables that I think could easily fit about eighty patrons at any one session. We when through the menu and the menu prices was a little on the high side comparing to our favorite Cantonese restaurant. But they also have the set meals which caught our attention. The set meals was more reasonably priced and we went for the set of four selections.

Roast Duck |
We ordered the Stir Fried Shrimps Cashew Nut, Fried Tofus cooked in Claypot, Fried Batter Squid, and Half Roast Duck. The set meal also came with a large bowl of wuntun soup and a pot of steam rice. At the end, the set meal was a much better choice when it came to pricing and the cuisines was actually authentic. It may not be the best but within the neighbourhood, that is the restaurant serving most authentic Cantonese cuisines anyone will find in the area.
