Swedish Meatballs |
Ikea is not only a provider of home and office furnishing but has two food outlets that serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and the in-betweens within their premise. I go there quite often with friends and family, sometimes for breakfast, lunch or dinner but mostly for their one buck breakfast meal. The one buck breakfast meal comes with two pieces of sausages, scramble eggs and potato fries (or alternately with mash potato). A very good and convinient deal, especially to the customers that were planning to shop there early. But for some of us, it is the opposite, we often go to Ikea just for the breakfast or the meals only.

Because of that, Ikea's diners have become common meeting places for groups of people. My own small group of Malaysian friends often meet up in one of Ikea's diner to catch up and meet with new and old friends. When we do meet up, there are only a few favorite cuisines that we like to order. The most popular of them would be the Swedish Meatballs that comes with eight meatballs, lingo berry sauce and a choice of potato fries or mash potato. Then, there is the Haddock Fish and Chips, also served with two pieces of their juicy fried fish fillet with a choice of potato fries or mash potato.

The set meals at Ikea are very much standardize throughout their chain of outlets. Their menu items have not changed for a very long time, except for some seasonal deals. And every Ikea store would offer the same range of set meals. Most of their menu items are also authentically Swedish. May be only one or two items that are a local popular delicacy. Like curry puffs in the Ikea store in Malaysia. There are no curry puffs available here in Vancouver but they have pizza instead. These are the few differences.
