Banana Fritters or Cucur Pisang

Banana Fritters
We bought more bananas than we could eat this week and when the bananas become really ripe, we use the leftover bananas to make the all famous Malaysian banana fritters. Sometimes bananas can be real cheap in the stores. And other than providing vitamins and minerals, bananas are good when I have a short break in between assignments. The kids also found bananas to be convinient for lunch and a snack after meal.

Cucur Pisang
Banana fritters are easy to prepare and quick to cook. Just mash up two pieces of bananas in a large bowl and mix with one cup of multipurpose flour and approximately 5 spoons of water and one spoon of sugar. Mix evenly and using a spoon to scoop up one ball of the banana mix and slowly drop into a wok with hot cooking oil. Repeat this process until the wok is full. Continue to flip and turn the banana fritters in the hot cooking oil. Make sure the heat on the stove is controlled or else the banana fritters are going to be too dark and burn. Banana fritters are best enjoyed during tea breaks with a cup of hot beverage.
