Sweet Sour Pork at Home

Sweet and Sour Pork
I was busy at work and came home late for dinner yesterday. And when I got home, my wife had already prepared dinner. She cooked the Sweet and Sour Pork which is a popular Cantonese cuisine that is listed in nearly every Chinese restaurant's menu. She uses pork instead of chicken and cut the meat to small bite size chunks. Coated the meat with corn flour and a pinch of salt than fry them until the color turned golden brown. Take the fried pork nuggets out from the wok and allow them to rest while she prepared the sweet and sour sauce with three spoons of tomato ketchup, one spoon of sugar, half spoon of corn flour and five spoons of water.

Steam Tofu
Once the sweet and sour sauce was brought to boil, add some diced tomato, cuts of onions and some cucumber. Lastly, add the fried pork nuggets and stir until evenly mixed. When serving, garnish with fried shallots and fried garlic. The other dish we had for dinner was a simple tofu cuisine which was simply steamed and then garnished with fried shallots and oyster flavoured sauce. We also had soup and the soup of the day was the Cabbage, Carrot and Onion soup boiled with pork ribs.
