Ikea's New Menu

New Prices
When to Ikea for breakfast, which we have not been doing for the past several months partly due to the busy schedule the kids and us were going through in the later part of summer and early part of fall. As we walked up to the dining area, we noticed the changes. There were new menu items announcing the changes in price. And there were also new furnitures in the dining area. There were additional seating space in the children's area. One big change in the menu was the one dollar breakfast.

New Menu
It was removed from the menu list. Now, the most valued item which is also the breakfast were priced at two forty nine. A one dollar fifty increase in price. I guessed, Ikea's objective was to increase menu price and removing the one dollar breakfast was the first step. Basically, the items offered were still the same as when they had the dollar breakfast accept that the combinations were a little different. Like removing the sausages and potato fries. Then, adding fried bacon, a slice of toast bread, and two large slices of tomato for two dollar forty nine.

The former popular breakfast
Whereas, the former one dollar breakfast is now priced at two ninety nine with a slice of toast bread. In comparison, it is actually an increased of two dollars just for the one extra slice of toast bread. I think Ikea's executive would have thought this through or conducted a study before launching the new menu prices. Anyway, there were a lot of shoppers stopping for breakfast. And this was the Coquitlum store, wonder if the crowd is the same over in the Richmond store which has a different population mix.
