Jollibee Original Recipe Fried Chicken |
Jollibee a popular Filipino fast food chain in the Phillippines are also found in California. In fact there were more than a few of these outlets. My kids wanted to try out Jollibee. And so, for the sake of curiosity, we had to dine in one of the Jollibee outlet when we were driving down to San Diego. The first thing I noticed when stepped into the diner was the customers were mostly of Filipino ethnicity. I think, we were the only non-Filipino group in the diner at that time.

Chicken Sandwich |
And I could hear the staff speaking in Tagalog with each other. So, not only was the brand Filipino, the staff and customers were all Filipinos. Exactly like any diner in Richmond, the cooks, staff and customers are of the same ethnicity. We went on to order one of the set meals that were advertised for the Christmas season. Included in the order were two buckets of fried chicken, two cups of coleslaw, two cups of gravy, and a large tray of their meat and sausage spaghetti.

Meat and sausages Spaghetti |
The buckets of chicken only consisted of six pieces in each but the tray of spaghetti was just too much for the five of us to finish. It was a huge portion with a lot of meat, sausages and spaghetti. The sauce was sweater that most spaghetti sauce I have tasted before. And the fried chicken was really unique. They were crunchy, flavourful and tasty. The original recipe friend chicken was unique and good. But we did not really like the spicy ones.
