Fried Mushroom Yee Mee |
My family and I love dining in this restaurant. We have been to this restaurant countless times. Anytime we decide to dine out in a Chinese restaurant, Hons Wuntun House on Sixth Street in New Westminster would be among our favorite diner. Last night we dined there again and took the opportunity to sample some of their new cuisines. As I can remember, they have not introduced any new cuisines for a long time.

Fried Squid, Fried Spare Ribs and Fried Batter Prawns Combo |
My kids are so familiar with the cuisines served at Hons that they all have their own favorite Cantonese cuisines. But yesterday, we ordered two new cuisines that we had previously not seen on their menu. I wanted to sample the fried Cantonese noodle (Yee Mien) with mushrooms. And another New Year cuisine which was a combo plater of fried squid, spare ribs and batter fried prawns. The other two cuisines were our usual.

Stir Fried Ginger Beef |
Although we like this diner so much, we had hardly have friends dine here with us. I think we need to host some of our friends here more often. It is a great diner for families. The ambiance is right and the food is authentic and flavourful. Most important, the staff are friendly and sociable. Hons Wuntun House is kinda off the way from the skytrain station. The nearest is about a eight hundred meters away but there is a steep hill between the station and the diner. So, walking up the hill can be challenging.
